JANUARY UPDATE
Joe Kaluza is the Kentucky Fried Chicken manager who was brutally shot and robbed in March, 2008. The shooting caused him to be paralyzed from the neck down. Joe and his wife Lisa care for their two special needs children. The Kaluza Family is in need of a specially-equipped house with an open floor plan, overhead lifts, voice activated doors, telephones and appliances.
Thanks to the extreme generosity of the Mahoning Valley community, a brand new handicap-accessible home was built on Youngstown's south side just down the road from their current home. Virtually all costs of building the home have been secured thanks to your monetary, material, and labor donations, The Kaluza Project continues to accept donations at the P. O. Box 8 address listed above. After all construction funding is completed, any unused funds will remain in a trust exclusively to the benefit of Joe Kaluza, his wife, and two special-needs children. This will include care and upkeep of the home, and medical necessities for the family.
A financial report of the 2009 campaign will be available on this site in January, 2010. The Kaluza Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity. Your contributions are tax exempt.
We asked you for your prayers for the Kaluza family, and for the success of this community project. It worked! The family moved in beginning December 14, 2009. Thank you very much!
